Let it Be Spring - Final Week

This is the final week for the "Let it Be Spring" challenge here at Craft a Scene.  Have you made your card yet? You may click here to go directly to mr. linky.

We have a wonderful entry by email from Margaret in Yorkshire.

Here is my card for the “Let it be Spring Challenge”.  I used Lavinia stamps and Layering cardstock. First I created the background using Adirondak inks and a Brayer.  I then stamped the images with Vesafine inks in black, lettuce, and meadow, and stream  and denim for the sky.  The bridge and stream were coloured using Adirondack inks and a water brush, and I created the sparkle in the water  with a Sakura Stardust Clear Star pen . then a little two way glue and a sprinkling of DeoArt Glamour Dust  in Crystal. Lastly I sponged around the edges with  Adirondak ink and layered and matted onto a white card before adding the sentiment.  Hope you like it

Our design team has been busy with a few more fantastic scenes for your inspiration.

Pia made us two lovely creations for today!

You may enter up to 3 times and as many other challenges as you wish. If you do not have a blog or account on Split Coast Stampers, then just email me a picture of the piece and I will add it to one of our posts.

Let it Be Spring - Week 4

Another week has past and we are still looking for your wonderful Spring scenic creations. You may click here to go directly to mr. linky.

Penny Nichols emailed me her wonderful scene to be included in the challenge.

I would like to announce that Claire from Clair's Crafty Creations has joined our design team.  Claire was a recent guest designer and when we asked if she would like to continue on a regular basis she said yes!

I'm Claire from a quiet corner of north east England where I live with my son, two dogs and a very cheeky parrot. I work full time for a mental health charity and stamping is my escape from the stresses of work. I've been stamping for about 8 years and if I'm not at work or out with my dogs you will usually find me in my craft room. I don't have a particular style of craft, I love everything from cute to vintage.

I'm so excited to be a designer for Craft a Scene, its always one of my favourite challenges as I love to start with a blank sheet of card and create a scene using ink and stamps. Claire's blog is Crlair's Craty Creations.

Here is what our wonderful design team has made for your inspiration this week.

Now that you have scene what we mean by a Spring Scene, lets see what you make for our challenge. You may enter up to 3 times and as many other challenges as you wish. If you do not have a blog or account on Split Coast Stampers, then just email me a picture of the piece and I will add it to one of our posts.

Let it be Spring - Week 2

This is the second week of this month's challenge.  We are all wishing for Spring, so we are letting our stamping craft tell of our plans - "Let it be Spring"!  Bring out your flowery stamps and bright colours to help celebrate the coming sun and warmer weather.

I would like to remind everyone that this is a scenic challenge and a scene with foreground and background images is required.

Rachel from the design team has made us a wonderful project for inspiration.

Now you have a chance to make a project with your own favorite techniques. You may enter up to 3 times and as many other challenges as you wish. If you do not have a blog or account on Split Coast Stampers, then just email me a picture of the piece and I will add it to one of our posts.

March Craft a Scene Challenge - Let It Be Spring!

I mentioned "ole man winter" in my last post and he truly is old and cold - really cold!  Don't you think it is time for Spring?  I can see my poor little daffodil greens peaking through the remnants of snow.  They are usually bloomed by now!

This month's challenge will help us turn our thoughts to Spring with our stamping craft - "Let it be Spring"!  So get out your flowery stamps and bright colours to help celebrate the coming sun and warmer weather.

I would like to remind everyone that this is a scenic challenge and a scene with foreground and background images is required.  You can stamp, draw or use a digi to make your scene, but cutting out paper does not qualify as creating a scene on this challenge.  Please see our instructions page for more information.  I don't like to discourage crafters so please note that any entry that does not meet our rules will be ignored.

Here is what our wonderful design team has made for your inspiration.

February Craft a Scene Winners!

Good Sunday morning to everyone.  I do hope the weather is cooperating in your part of the country.  Old Man Winter has been quite angry this year leaving most of North America in the cold and snow.

I received an email entry from our friend Margaret in Yorkshire and I forgot to post it.  So Margaret your lovely card is on display today!

Even though our numbers are small (just 20 this time), I can see that you all had fun sharing with us your favorite techniques for making scenic cards. Thank you to everyone who entered and especially to our guest designer -  Emma from  www.thesparklyfairy.blogspot.com.

I always find it difficult to limit myself to just three top entries as there are so many really wonderful scenic stampers who enter this challenge.  Be sure to take our badge to add to your blogs (if you have one).

Here are the selections for the top three for February.

#16 Pat - Rubber Stamping is My Game

#11 Ineke

#4 - Wendy - Confessions of a Papersniffer

Oh and I couldn't help slipping one more in to the Top category.  This is an entry that came to us late in the week and I love it.

Beautiful cards everyone!  I will be back in a few moments with our next challenge.
