Craft a Scene - Make Your Own Theme - Final Week

I am actually camping this weekend - yes, I go camping in the winter.  Were I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, our winters are fairly mild in the valleys.  We still get lots of snow on the hillside but not so much this year for some reason.

So with the magic of blogger I am able to bring you our final inspiration for the month of January.  We are all working on a "Make your own them" challenge.  I have been looking at all your entries and they are great!  Jump to mr linky here.

Please remember to tell us what theme you have chosen when you make your post.  Only those who include an explanation of their chosen theme will be included in the Top 3 picks.

Craft a Scene - Make Your Own Theme - Week 2

This our second week of the "Make your own theme" and it looks like it is going well.  I have checked out all the participants and everyone is sharing with us what their theme is so that means you all understood the challenge. Ya!

I have the joy of introducing to you our guest designer for January, an avid crafter and beautiful scene maker - Claire, who has been enjoying and entering our challenges from the beginning.

I'm Claire from a quiet corner of north east England where I live with my son, two dogs and a very cheeky parrot. I work full time for a mental health charity and stamping is my escape from the stresses of work. I've been stamping for about 8 years and if I'm not at work or out with my dogs you will usually find me in my craft room. I don't have a particular style of craft, I love everything from cute to vintage.

I'm so excited to be guest designer for Craft a Scene, its always one of my favourite challenge as I love to start with a blank sheet of card and create a scene using ink and stamps. Claire's blog is Crlair's Craty Creations.

I've gone for a 'Sea and Sand' theme.

Here is what our wonderful design team has made for your inspiration.

Craft a Scene - Make Your Own Theme

Welcome to a new year here at Craft a Scene.  At Craft a Scene will strive to bring you interesting challenges to encourage you to breakout your scenic stamps and create your art with a landscape.

This is the beginning of our third year and I think it is time for little adjustments to keep it running smoothly.  As you know, we have had a variety of sponsors and many months with no sponsor but just a random scenic stamp from my local stores.  Many of you have commented that the winner's prize isn't necessary as you want to make the scenes for the fun of it, not just because there is a prize. So, we will become a challenge for the joy of making scenes and continue the Top 3 reveal.

I am very excited to announce that the whole design team will be continuing into the new year. This is a very talented group who produce amazing scenic art using stamps, digis and sometimes their own drawings.

Now on to our theme - this first month of 2014 our theme will be "Make your own theme!"  This should not be confused with the typical "anything goes" challenges.  When you make your own theme you need to tell us what theme you have chosen.  Only those who include an explanation of their chosen theme will be included in the Top 3 picks.

Here is what our wonderful design team has made for your inspiration.

Anna-Karin - Layers of Ink

Anna_Karin likes to make scenes on her scrapbook pages.

Dora likes to add her own drawing to the stamped images.

Pia used designer paper as her base for the scene.

Rachel made an under the sea scene.

Now you have a chance to make your own theme and enter our challenge for January. You may enter up to 3 times and as many other challenges as you wish. If you do not have a blog or account on Split Coast Stampers, then just email me a picture of the piece and I will add it to one of our posts.

If you are not sure what constitutes a scenic project, check out the information here.

December Winners!

Hello everyone, I have our "Winter Scene" winner and our top 3 for December.  We had 37 blog entries with five wonderful Tri-Shutter cards.  Thank you to everyone who entered and especially to those who attempted the Tri-Shutter style.

I always use Random.org first to find the winner of our prize so that I don't also call them a Top 3 winner. This time Random chose 16. Nikki C  .

Reach out to me Nikki with your mailing address and I will send out your stamp.

When we review all the great entries each month for the Top 3 we are looking for finished projects (cards, bookmarks, framed art, etc), and scenes that are stamped or digi'd with all the scenic elements mentioned in our rules.  They were all really great this month (they usually are) and I am trying not to pick the same ones each month too.

Our Top 3 this month are:

17. Mamapia

Congratulations to all!  I will be back in a few minutes with our next challenge.
